Tricil Environmental Services (Tricil) operated a commercial hazardous waste treatment storage and disposal facility (TSDF). The site was regulated by an operating permit issued by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). Operations at the site ceased in 1990 following acquisition of sites’ parent company (Tricil Ltd.) by Laidlaw Ltd.

Since that time, Envirologic has assisted Laidlaw Environmental Services with closure of the site. Immediate actions included completion of the approved closure plan in the facility’s operating permit. These actions included investigation of soil conditions in selected areas and completion of a groundwater monitoring program. These actions were accepted by the MDEQ and the facility’s operating permit was closed.

Project activities are now focused on RCRA Corrective Action requirements. Envirologic has prepared a RCRA Facility Assessment to initiate the Corrective Action process. The project requires continuous involvement with state and local officials.
