The UST Corrective Action Fund enacted December 30, 2014, is up and running. If you opt to buy down the claim deductible for the current year (2016), you have until March 31st to submit a Claim Deductible Buy-Down Application and pay the ANNUAL fee of $500 per UST. This deadline, previously January 31st, was extended by the Michigan Underground Storage Tank Authority (MUSTA) Board during their January meeting. The fund's main objectives are to reimburse owners or operators (O/Os) for eligible corrective action undertaken to bring their UST systems into compliance with the Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) regulations and to assist O/Os in meeting their financial responsibility obligations required under the UST regulations. Procedures and forms for its implementation are available on the MUSTA website at http://www.michigan.gov/deqmusta.
